Meet The Staff

  • Rodrigo Torres MD
    Rodrigo Torres M.D.

    Dr. Torres is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been providing exceptional eye care since 2002.  Born in the U.S. and raised in the heartland of Iowa, he also enjoys a diverse cultural background; both of his parents are first-generation immigrants, one from Mexico and one from Argentina.  He has maintained fluency in Spanish, a gift he attributes to his parents, and one that has proved invaluable in providing the highest quality of care to many of his patients. He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Iowa and went on to obtain his Medical Degree at Harvard Medical School.

  • Dr. Pezhman Nazemi
    Pezhman Paul Nazemi M.D.

    Paul Nazemi, MD specializes in eyelid plastic and reconstructive surgery. He trained with Henry Baylis, M.D., the Founding Chief and Professor of the Division of Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at Jules Stein Eye Institute-UCLA. He received his Medical Degree from the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, where he received academic honors. He completed his internship in medicine at the Los Angeles County, USC Medical Center, and his ophthalmology residency at Doheny Eye Institute at the USC School of Medicine.

  • Dr. Khaled Tawansy
    Khaled A. Tawansy M.D.
    Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Retina Specialist

    Khaled A. Tawansy, M.D. is a world-renowned vitreo-retinal surgeon and an assistant professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics. He directs a busy clinical practice in Southern California dedicated to the management of complicated pediatric and adult retinal disorders, including retinopathy of prematurity, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, trauma, uveitis, macular degeneration, and hereditary vitreo-retinopathies.

  • Patricia Buckley OD
    Patricia Buckley O.D.

    After receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree Dr. Buckley moved to Philadelphia to pursue further post-graduate education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She relocated to southern California and has practiced in both private and hospital based settings. She is a former Chief of Low Vision Services for the prestigious Los Angeles County Hospital at USC medical school.

  • Dr. Paul Bonds
    Paul Bonds M.D.

    Dr. Paul Michael Bonds is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist with a Specialty in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases and Treatment, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Detached Retina, etc. He was invited to complete a Retina Fellowship at Tulane University School of Ophthalmology and remained as Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Bonds has 40 years for experience. He is Bilingual in English and Spanish.

     

     

  • Dr. Negin Nikhad
    Negin Nikhad O.D.

    Negin Nikahd is a licensed therapeutic optometrist, optometric glaucoma and low vision specialist.  Dr. Nikahd earned her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  Dr. Nikahd was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society in optometry school.  Her undergraduate work was at the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. She has participated in published vision research programs prior and during optometry school. After graduating from optometry school she completed a residency program at the Center for the Partially Sighted focusing on low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Nikahd has been a presenter at both the American Academy of Optometry meeting and Optometry’s Meeting on low vision topics.  She enjoys volunteer work and has been involved with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), and Lions club in the past. In her spare time she likes to hike, explore new restaurants, and spend time with friends and family.

     

  • David Antonyan
    David Antonyan O.D.

    Dr. David Antonyan is an optometrist serving the visual needs of the people of his community. After receiving his B.S. degree in Integrative Biology and Physiology at UCLA, Dr. Antonyan completed his graduate studies at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2016. He completed his clinical training at UC Berkeley School of Optometry Clinic in Berkeley, CA, VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Clinic in Los Angeles, CA, Marin Community Clinic in San Rafael, CA. Eastmont Wellness Center in Oakland, CA, and VA San Jose Outpatient Clinic in San Jose, CA. Dr. Antonyan is an associate optometrist where he conducted comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosed and treated a vast number of diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, ocular trauma, and keratoconus. Dr. Antonyan is also skilled in fitting soft contact lenses, as well as specialty contact lenses, such as scleral, gas permeable, and hybrid lenses, indicated for different corneal conditions, including keratoconus.
